About The Book, Fruiting in the Desert of Widowhood by Imelda Udoh
This book, Fruiting in the Desert of Widowhood by Prof. Imelda Udoh one of the long-standing books in review history in many schools in Nigeria especially in South-South Nigeria. It explains life in widowhood from a first person perspective being that the author is herself a fruitful widow.
The author cites John 15:8 which says, “When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father” as the premise for fruitfulness of any widow. She declared that “…being fruitful even in widowhood is essential in the life of a believer in compliance with the directive of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (sid)
The author comments that widowhood is synonymous with desert-hood but declares that a widow can still be fruitful in this desert. However, she points out that sometimes there are desert periods that tries to stop the widow from being fruitful.
Fruiting in the Desert of Widowhood by Prof Imelda Udoh, presents the reader (especially the widow) with strategies for coping with the numerous challenges that widowhood presents but affirms that the widow can still bear bountiful fruits despite the myriad of challenges she faces as.
